Departing from Wellington Airport
Wellington International Airport (WLG) is the 3rd busiest airport in New Zealand. It is 1 of 4 airports in the country that offers direct flights to Sydney.
The airport is 9km from city centre. This normally takes 20 minutes in a car or taxi, but 30 minutes by bus. A taxi costs around NZ$40 while the Airport Flyer Bus costs NZ$9 for a 1-way ticket.
Wellington Airport has a single terminal for all flights. Check-in desks are found on Level 1, with the departure gates on the same floor in the back right-hand corner.
The majority of restaurants and shops are found before security, but there are also a few once you've had your bags checked.
Sydney Airport arrivals

Public transport in Sydney is cheapest when you use an Opal card. This is similar to Metlink. You can get a card and top it up at most newsagents and train stations.
