February staycation

The hotel is beautiful and historic. The service was impeccable. Loved exploring the history of the hotel and all its glory. The executive floors were quiet. Room very nice. Bed was comfortable. Lockwood restaurant was great for breakfast. Jill was a wonderful server. The spa was great. People watching in the lobby was very fun. Will return.

Nice location, room is lacking

Love the Palmer House, however a little disappointed with the room. First let me start by saying the check in process was great, and the staff had been excellent. I’m a Hilton honors member, but booked through Priceline. Room size is fine; but the age shows in the room. The paint is cracking the furniture is worn. Just surprised because when I think of the Palmer house I think higher end quality, not old and worn. Overall the location is great, but I would definitely not expect a high end room if you’re booking here.

Palmer house

The bathroom was water damage, buckling ceiling and dirty walls. I complained to management. They took very little off the bill. Definitely not worth the price. The common areas of the hotel were nice. The city was a pleasant adventure. The wedding we went to was beautiful.

Grand old Hotel

A lovely old early 1900s hotel. A very impressive lobby area which is great for having cocktails and people watching. Sadly they have diminished the grand atmosphere by adding televisions and playing rather loud music. They do have a nice restaurant in the lobby. The rooms have been recently renovated but lack coffee or a microwave in the room. Thankfully they have added back daily housekeeping. It also has a very convenient location and is easy walkable from the train station.

Grand entrance…but that’s where the grandeur ends! 2 star

I’m sure in its day it was a grand hotel..and certainly impressive when you walk through the main entrance and main hall to the elevators (very busy and has a Grand central station- NY feel about it!). But that is where the grandeur ends!!!
Extremely small room, not clean, no room service for the four nights I stayed there. Luckily I had just enough towels to see me through!
Wallpaper and paint …needs redone! Bathtub about to collapse!
