I had a nice stay at this hotel with a balcony looking out over the channeled stream that runs through the north side of the property. The hotel is immaculate and the bar/lounge area is cozy on a winter night with live music on Fridays. The only drawbacks for me were: 1) a $23 per night "resort fee," which to me is just bait-and-switch (this is NOT a resort with tennis courts and miniature golf, etc); 2) very dark rooms (dark brown wallpaper over everything, dark curtains) and 3) absolutely tasteless food at breakfast. Powdered eggs covered in some awful cheese, cubed/frozen potato bits that tasted reconstituted, and cardboard-tasting biscuits.

On a week’s road trip. Chose Wayfinder Bishop because of the rating, review and the photos. We had a lower level creekside room and it was really nice, with a two chair sitting area, king sized mattress with a foam topper, a good breakfast area (would have liked a little more variety especially for multi night stays), a really cozy lounge with a fireplace and some bar and food service, a pool, spa and soon to be ready sauna, and outdoor sitting areas along Bishop Creek with cushioned chairs and fire pits! And it’s a half block to Schott’s Bakkery, a must-stop place in Bishop. We will return!

Great location in center of town yet very quiet comfortable room. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Nice little lounge and bar area friendly staff and decent breakfast.

Highway 120 (Tioga Pass) typically closes from late October until late May. When the Tioga Pass Road is closed, it is not possible to drive to Tuolumne Meadows or enter Yosemite National Park from the east. All other park entrances, including those along Highway 120 from the west, Highway 140, and Highway 41, remain open all year. On the day of your departure if a late checkout has not been approved, you will be charged $ 50.00 for every hour after 11AM. No bicycles are allowed in guest rooms. We have limited bicycle storage available, please contact hotel in advance of your arrival/booking.
