We try to stay at the Daniel Boone whenever out travels take us that direction. We are never disappointed.

Nice Price, Clean & Comfortable Historical Hotel - better than all the chains

Enjoyed our one night stay on 1-15-25 and ate dinner at the restaurant. The service, spoon bread, burger and salad was delicious and reasonably priced - which was surprising for this upscale tavern. The room was very clean (super important for us). The heating system seemed to run all night and was a nice white noise, but the rest of the hotel was very quiet. The price was very reasonable (cheaper than some of the chain hotels that google seems to highlight relentlessly and hid this gem) as they matched the on-line 3rd party rate without the hassle of booking online. We will definitely stay again and spend more time exploring the town. So nice to have something different than the normal chain hotels we have stayed at.

I’ve lived in Berea my whole life and had never stayed at Boone tavern before. It was so cozy and comfortable, we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be coming back soon for our “staycation”.

Boone Tavern's in Hot Water!

Oh, dear. Boone Tavern's in hot water! It flowed forth everywhere, from the cold water faucets in the sink and shower as well as the properly designated ones. Even the commode was filled with hot water! When the desk was called, they apologized but indicated it was an ongoing problem: something about the kitchen's mop cleaners failing to return a switch to the correct setting. Which was a creative if incomprehensible answer. We were brought larger bottles of water to drink - but that didn't settle the problem of the shower: after all, had it been a tub, it could have been filled and left to cool. So a sponge bath for me - fortunately, I'd bathed that morning prior to heading to the Tavern. I was there for six nights, but the problem was never corrected, despite numerous inquiries on both my part and the parts of others. A friend told me to try running the "cold" water for fifteen or twenty minutes, as this had worked in his room. Thankfully, that was a partial solution, so I did get my showers without being scalded, but it was hardly in line with Boone Tavern's much vaunted claim of greenness nor did it make it easy to keep my own schedule. Otherwise, all was well: comfortable room, beautiful western view, lots of friends, beautiful Christmas decorations in the first floor lobbies and lounges, and delicious food in the dining room. But allowing the evidently pre-existing problem to continue for my entire six night stay, with no offer of adjusting my bill, was not in keeping with the well-earning glowing reputation of Boone Tavern.

I've stayed here before and wanted to stay again. I love this historic hotel. We ate breakfast this time here, and it did not disappoint. I would definitely request a room with a view like i had on my first visit.
