Our door opened very hard from inside,I reported it,side door couldn't get in with key had to walk all the way around out front to get in , toilet kept plugging up, reported all this to the office,I feel I should get money back from all this

We had a death in the family that required us to be in Augusta for two days. Instead of traveling back and forth we chose to stay. We wanted a hotel with a pool the children could enjoy. This was a perfect place to stay, the price was reasonable and was close to where we needed to be. We were also able to check in early which was extremely helpful.

Like most Senators, this one has served too long. It's tired and worn out. The heat in our room would not turn down, we selected a lower setting and put it on cool as it was 72 degrees, then left for NYE and upon returning after midnight it was 78 F! Over the course of the night we had to open the sliding glass door to cool the room as it rose to 82F. The refrigerator had to be turned to it's lowest setting as it was very loud, and the jacuzzi tub jets appeared that the maids cleaning could not quite maintain the same color as the tub, yech. Definitely would recommend looking for a chain hotel up the street.

This place is very old and has not been maintained at all. It’s also very dirty—dust caked the fixtures and lights; black blotches that appeared to be mold was in the corners and ceiling of the bathroom and shower. The shower head only partially functioned and both the hot tub and sauna were closed for 3 days without notice or offer of a refund for the resort fee. Outside of the physical property, the front desk staff was unpleasant and not helpful. The folks in the front desk at the “spa” were very rude and required us to give both the pool pass card and our wallets or we couldn’t have towels and keys for a locker. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at any other hotel in Augusta Maine before the Senator Inn & “Spa”.
