This hotel is genuinely a hidden gem, whilst it is an old building it has some much character. I’ve never had an evening meal watching a live curling game on ice - food was very good too !

Dated but perfect location

The location of this hotel is perfect for the Cairnryan Ferry. The family room was spacious and more than warm enough. The decor is a bit dated and the room was a little dusty to be honest, but that was the only complaint. There are two sets of steps at the entrance to the hotel, which were awkward for a buggy. Overall, it was perfect for a quick stay to break up a long journey. Staff couldn't have been friendlier.

Quick overnight stay

Stayed overnight in this hotel having got a late ferry into cairnryan. Staff were fantastic. The room was lovely and warm albeit a little dated. Could do with a little refurbishment. Good amount of parking spaces at the location. Didn't have the opportunity to eat at the hotel or use the leisure centre. Don't have much to complain about. It suited our purpose of a quick overnight stay. Perfect with small children.

A nostalgic visit to an old classic hotel

I last stayed in this hotel back in 1984, and i think the decor remains the same! but I love it. Took me right back to happy days going to their Hogmanay dances with my aunt & uncle. Anyway, we stayed for one night as we were down visiting family. The room was very clean and comfy bed. We ate in the Alpine Lounge/Bar and the food was fantastic. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely - and I love that they use pure white tablecloths. very classic

North West Castle - the Best of Bonnie Scotland

This hotel is consistently the Best value for money in Scotland or northern England.
The rooms, pool facilities and dining room are of a high quality.
I was particularly impressed with the service from Logan, Eve & Saffe in the dining room. They are exactly what one expects from a premium facility.
