Great place to stay

Visiting our son for 5 days and booked into the Crofters Lodge for the first time.
Very nice room, clean, warm and great shower.
We didn’t eat in the pub next door but we did stop in one evening for a drink.
Very friendly staff.
We will book here again for our next visit.

Worst hotel stay ever!!!

This is the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. Filthy, noisy and not as described on booking.com. We left after the first night due to the noise from paper thin walls. The hotel refused to give us a refund for the other 2 nights we had booked and simply offered us another room at the same standard. Fire alarms going off for 30 minutes and no one was on site to support the guests even though we tried calling and knocking on the door of the pub that owns this accommodation. We travelled for 6.5hrs to have our Easter break ruined by this awful experience and then to have to pay for another hotel on top of all this upset is devastating. The owners of Crofters lodge should be ashamed of how they treat their customers.

Terrible .. dirty and damn right rude

Absolute shambles this hotel. Wasn’t welcomed at all when we checked in rude staff. Went to the room it was filthy thick with dust food behind the bed .. dirty used towels in the bathroom . The tv did not have a remote so I asked for the remote .. said it had been lost a few days ago no apology nothing .. we stayed here as we was going to a rugby match in barrow the next day . It could be a lovely place the foundations are there but it’s filthy and the staff are rude .. not impressed esp for the price .

Too expensive for faults and no breakfast

Paid £100 for a deluxe double HMS Soverign.. wouldnt have called it deluxe really. Bed was really comfy and looked clean until you notice all the dust on the panelling behind the bed and cob webs from the beams. Bathroom a little grubby around the bath and shower head but clean otherwise. The curtain pole was hanging off the wall too.. and then we looked in the drawers (to see if there was a hairdryer) and we found an open blue pill and packet! We laughed to start with then realised what might have happened if we had our little girl with us. Also walls very thin so we could hear all the comings and goings.
Not on at all... for the price we paid we expect a clean and damage free room . Sorry but we wouldnt stay here again.

OK for quick stay

Came here after visiting Ulverston and travelling further north. Pub is in the middle of housing estate, but it wasn't noisy from cars, etc. We arrived a little early and were able to check in. Luckily, we asked about a sandwich or something as we had 10 minutes to order. The opportunity to order lunch wasn't offered before we asked. We sat on a very torn leather sofa, which is weird when all the other furniture seemed new. Sandwich was ok, nothing special. The room was spacious. We were in a ground floor one, HMS Albion, it was clean (bathroom needs regrouting), and the bed was comfy. We had evening meal, chips were hard, i felt they were frozen oven chips, hubby had curry and he said it tasted like a sauce from a jar. Although restaurant on site, there was no breakfast available
