Good Traditional pub

If you are after the experience of a real pub with home cooked food then this is the place.
A good sized room with everything you need .
The pub food menu was a menu I look for, spoilt for choice and most homecooked as opposed to ordered in.
Lovely welcome from all of the team too. Certainly recommend to stop or just to go in and eat in a quiet pub atmosphere.

A good stop on the Cotswold Way

We were here for one night, as a stay on the Cotswold Way. It is directly on the path. Our room was large, the bed was comfortable and the shower fine. The decor could be freshened up a bit, but the room was clean. Dinner offered the usual except that there was a wide choice of seafood. I had a salmon fillet and it was good.

The Dinner from hell most literally The Owner Glenn did not meet my standards there was a loud banging from upstairs

On First Glance the "pub" looks nice until you enter and get met with a vile stench of piss and damp at the same time its hard to explain the stench of which I am met with upon entree the food was like rubber and half eaten and the vegetables looked like they were reused and half eaten. The noise from upstairs sounded like someone having a rave it could be Glastonbury for all I know I picked up on some works from it taking about going "frags" and "ria lane" it really put me off my "meal" the owner told me to "piss off" after asking him about what the noise was and the stench. We ran into a dominos driver with 4 boxes of pizzas so i ordered dominos after as that is better and this pub with my half eaten meal. I bet the owner had a taste test.

Excellent Lunch

Visited just before Christmas as a couple returning home from a long drive. There were lots of groups having a lovely Christmas meal get together. The staff were very friendly & welcoming, they couldn’t do enough for us amongst their really busy lunch time period. We ordered from the lunch time menu, cod & chunky chip, lasagne & chips with treacle sponge for desert. Home cooked food was of a high standard. We definitely recommend.

Slight changes

Always loved this place but things seem to have changed a little of late.
I know catch up is being done regarding financial situations since covid but I have noticed a difference in the food here.
The size of the main chilli meal on the large menu is now substantially smaller.
Still delicious though and some of the best chips around.
Shame but will still keep going for more meals to see how things go.
Has always been a great place so fingers crossed
