Avoid booking that hotel, unfriendly, misleading, fraud
Would give it 0 stars if I could. There was one bad thing after another. Started off with only receiving 1 large towel to share between 4 people in one room. When asking the maid for more, got a curt response that she has already done the cleaning and we will only get the towels the next day. Had a look at the towel which we did have and they were dirty/stained anyways.
Never mind, we thought let’s go and enjoy the pool with the kids as we only changed our hotel for the swimming. Once we arrived downstairs the ladies at the ‘pool reception’ said it’s €15 per person to use the pool! When we said that’s too much, she said she can do it for €10 per person. We decided to go to the hotel reception to complain as when we booked through another website where there was nothing to indicate that the pool needed to be paid for. Receptionist was unable to help or intervene, apparently the facilities including the pool are owned by another company. We asked to speak to the manager but it is the managers day off and they don’t have another manager on site. When we later asked to call the manager we were told the manager was busy.
Whilst being in contact with the booking website, we thought let’s atleast ask the pool receptionist for a better deal as we have 5 kids with us who were very excited for the pool. She then said the best she could do was €15 euros per person very rudely.
The walls have cracks in the bedroom, towels are stained, one bedroom doesn’t have the wall sconce lights but open wiring where children will be staying! I don’t understand how any of this is acceptable in a 4 star hotel. Very disappointed. The only saving grace was that we’ve booked it for 1 night. We would have gone back to our initial centrally located hotel in the heart of Istanbul with such helpful and friendly staff all around if it didn’t mean even more money to pay for another taxi, as all costs were adding up for this joke of a hotel.
Our advice, avoid at all costs. Was a huge letdown and left a bitter taste in our mouth to be treated so rashly.
