A memorable stay at Grand Villa Kalametiya
A tranquil location perfect for Bird Watching. The property is surrounded by many trees which attract a large variety of Birds. The serene environment facilitates nature photography in a peaceful and undisturbed manner.
There is ample parking on the property. It is located in close proximity to the Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary. The owner is a very helpful and arranged a very scenic boat ride in the early hours of the morning around the Kalamatiya Bird Sanctuary where we were able to photograph many varieties of Birds.
The other attractions in the area include: Nona Gama, Nona Gama Water Park,Ussangoda National Park and Ussangoda beach, ideal for sea bathing.
The facilities provided are excellent and include a spacious Air-Conditioned room and bathroom with hot and cold water, tea/coffee making facilities and large balconies from which one can engage in prolonged hours of Bird Watching.
The food is delicious, fresh and prepared with care.
We highly recommend visiting Grand Villa Kalametiya for a memorable and relaxed stay in Kalametiya.

Great host and great place to sleep
The staff was super friendly and helpfull. He checked if we were okay and if we wanted something to drink.
If you're in the area, you should stay here! The lake is very peacefull and there are a lot of birds in the area. You can even do the birdwatching excursion at the lagoon.

Birds' Paradise amidst forest and the lagoon
apart all above the 'Kalamatiya Lagoon safari' was an unforgettable experience on eco friendly boats which was arranged by the hotel. Highly recommend this place for people who love bird watching and who look for an unspoiled eco-friendly nature to relax and spend holiday.
