A little gem

I cannot believe some of the grumpy reviews on the site . This is a little gem. We arrived from a 5 star place in Bilbao which was pants . Molino is quirky , friendly , comfortable and has a sprinkling of magic . Staff a delight . First night in tent since pre our five kids . Made us feel young again

I do not recommend Molino Tejada

Our stay at Molino Tejada was brief, 4 hours. We decided to leave the accommodation due to the poor treatment received in such a short time.
We arrived at the Mill at 2:15 p.m. and the first thing that surprised us was witnessing a shouting match between the employees of the place. This discussion was motivated by a vacuum cleaner that had stopped working or someone had damaged it.
After witnessing this discussion, we contacted the person responsible for managing the Mill to be able to check-in. As indicated in the reservation, the earliest time to check-in is 3:00 p.m. and he let us know this, asking us to wait 45 minutes until 3:00 p.m. This is what we did, taking the opportunity to enjoy the surroundings in which the Mill is located.
Shortly before 3:00 p.m., at 2:57 p.m., we went to the reception to check-in. At this moment, the person in charge of managing the Mill addressed us sharply and violently, repeating that we had to wait until 3:00 p.m. to check-in. After these 3 minutes, we were informed that the room we had reserved was in the process of being cleaned due to “the slowness of the employees in charge of cleaning.” For our part, it made us feel quite uncomfortable that the people in charge of cleaning were blamed, I think it is something that has to be opaque to customers.
When we began to check-in, we found the bad taste jokes made by the person in charge uncomfortable. These jokes were of the type “the people from Madrid invade us”, knowing that both my partner and I are from Madrid.
At 16:00, we headed to our accommodation, which was wide open due to the wet ground. Upon entering the accommodation, we could see that the accommodation had been cleaned quickly (the floor was not clean, the jacuzzi bathrobes were badly folded and half thrown inside it, the individual sofas had bread crumbs...). Also, the fact that the door was open caused the accommodation to be poorly heated, at a temperature of 19 degrees.
After this, we took a nap until 5:00 p.m., at which time we wanted to take a shower, but we couldn't since there was no water due to a problem with the town hall. We were offered access to a bathroom that is a 10-minute walk from our accommodation, although we did not understand the reason why that bathroom had water and ours did not. After this, we asked for a more comfortable alternative or to simply have a detail with us. The response was “If you want, you can leave, we will give you all your money back.” After thinking about it for 1 hour and continuing without water, we made the decision to go to another accommodation where we felt we were well received.
For all of the above, I do not recommend Molino Tejada nor will I return to it.

Unique and relaxing destination

Old mill elegantly renovated, with stone walls, meadows, trees and flowers. Modern interior decoration, perhaps with excess black. Well stocked breakfasts. Wonderful silence and murmur of the Ebro water. Managed with sympathy by Tatiana. Nearby hiking trails

It looks good.... on photos

This place is amazing.... on photos. It’s good for a one night stay and instagram, but in reality it’s a cheap-chic. After seeing the photos and reading numerous articles in magazines you expect something of a better quality and standard. The quality of interior declarations is very low, things fall out into pieces. The best example of it is the wine fountain - yes you can drink wine directly from a wall, but it’s the cheapest, undrinkable one. The same with bikes - they are not suitable for cycling even the lowest hills and badly maintained, some of the parts are missing.
On the positive side, Tatiana who is the manager of this place is the brightest thing there. She does what she can to make up for everything that's wrong. I have a feeling that the owner doesn't have problem with cutting corners and only focusing on making money vs. providing and experience for the guests.
Breakfast - paying 175 for a night you would expect something better. The breakfast buffet is the same every day. Filtered coffee and products from Macro and the local supermarket. This is frustrating because the owner is bragging about the culinary experiences you get at the Molino in the design magazines. (see the Vogue photo). It's nowhere close to "de la huerta". I feel cheated.
Room. The room wasn’t very clean, but it’s hard to tell because of the poor lighting. It was cleaned ones during our five day stay. There is no reading light at the bed, only paper ikea lamps which don’t give enough light - they might be good for the atmosphere but not practical at all. There was a bad smell in the room coming from the sewage pipes. There is no place to put your clothes. The floor was painted black and the paint is coming of the tiles.
Cooking facilities - there is a “kitchenette” in the room but in reality it was not designed for cooking. There is no place to cut anything, no cutting board, no kettle, no decent knife.
Sauna - it’s a joke, just look at the photo. It stinks.
All in all, Molino is highly overpriced and pretending to be a place it is not.

Maravilloso

We stayed at Molino 3 days (family with three kids) and stayed in one of the fully furnished apartments (the one by the entrance with kitchen on three floors). The place overall has it's own charme, very well redecorated and with plenty of surprises (the room with the glass floor, the comfy cinema, the pool and the sauna). The breakfast is pretty good. The service is excellent and Tatiana a very good host. Strongly recommended.
