Basic but great

It's right in the center of Malaga. Five minutes from the worst restaurants where you only eat outside heated by a mushroom when it's good and from tourist attractions that sell at a high price the fact of being in a seaside town.
It is not a 4 (regardless of declarations or certifications) but a great 3 star. It has everything you need to spend a night or two in a basically useless city if not as a base to go see nearby things and places.
A small reception with friendly, kind, always helpful and courteous staff, smiling and ready.
In the area behind the reception a small pampering area with armchairs, reading room and space for tea, herbal teas and gummy candies (plundered every day by children but also by gluttonous adults!)
A breakfast (small room but elegant and comfortable) that, for the type of hotel, is perfect and above all is better than many other hotels of the same category. Fresh fruit, à la carte cuisine and a wide choice of sweet and savory, all great. And -in addition- table service for cold and hot drinks, with speed and professional sympathy.
The room is basic, but spotless and super quiet. Comfortable bed even if with two separate mattresses; new safe and code memory; little space but common livable. Large bathroom with shower in the tub ... bad; we overlook that in addition the pressure is not constant so a little 'comes out boiling water and a little' cold.
There is no parking; they have an agreement with a nearby parking lot but they do not do the service of signaling to the city of Malaga the license plate that you have to make yourself with a declaration of theirs, so we are almost certain that the fine will come since to get there you need to enter the center passing under the cameras.
Average price but higher value than paid. Especially thinking about the many crazy and misplaced prices of a city to leave as soon as possible.

An excellent boutique style hotel. The personal and friendly service from all the staff was exceptional. We needed a little help and nothing was too much trouble. Lounge with free tea and coffee available all day is a great touch. They even had jars full of sweets. Rooms are immaculate with huge showers. Location is fabulous. Close to a square full of cafes - with the port and shops within walking distance. I could not recommend this place any more. A real gem of a find.

Carla at the front desk and the rest of the staff including the staff at the breakfast room are excellent. They made our visit to Malaga easy, comfortable and memorable. The only thing that bothered us a bit is the water heater. It was hard to control between hot and cold and there is smell just outside the elevator. Other than that our stay was perfect. Thanks.

Exceptional Stay with Outstanding Service

Hotel Palacete de Álamos is a gem! The rooms are spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The staff are outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Perfect location, close to Malaga’s attractions yet quiet for a restful stay. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Upon my arrival, I was assigned a room that was considerably smaller than what I had anticipated, I was also questioned on the double bed I had booked, with a rather sinister look by the receptionist, which made me uncomfortable, the room unfortunately lacked any windows to allow for fresh air circulation. The only opening in the room was an internal window facing the fourth-floor landing, providing a rather unappealing view of the lift shaft, if curtain was open the public would look in and could see the bed, and I could see them too! This particular setup contributed to a rather claustrophobic atmosphere, making it challenging to get a good night's sleep due to persistent noise echoes from the ground level and a noticeable lack of fresh air. , I was quite disheartened by the demeanor of the reception staff when I expressed my concerns. Their responses felt dismissive and unhelpful, leading me to feel as though my presence was not valued. This lack of professionalism was particularly discouraging for someone seeking a pleasant and welcoming experienced.
I was initially told that there were no available upgrades. However, I later discovered that an apartment option was listed on your website. Unfortunately, after unpacking and settling in, I was unable to reconsider the extra payment for a room change.As a Gold member of hotel.com, I had higher expectations for my experience, given my loyalty to the platform. I found the overall experience bad, awaiting for reply
