Very dated
1. The ground around the complex is highly slippery as a lot of the complex have slopes. I would class it as being dangerous, specially if the floor got wet.
2. The outside of our apartment was very tired. There was a large hole in the ground on the artificial grass but was also a danger hazard.,
3. The apartment itself was very old and dated and not particularly clean.
4. there were wires hanging from the TV low enough for my granddaughter to grab hold of.
5. The door from the front room leading into the bathroom was broken so would not shut properly..
6. The door from the bathroom leading into the bedroom was non-existent it had been taken off.
7. The kitchen had broken fridge door a broken cupboard door. The chairs around the table was stained and dirty. The coffee table was full of rust and not clean. The sofa bed was old very uncomfortable and also very dirty., we did complain and yes they offered us a different room with having two young children and a teenager travelling on my own. I was only there for two nights and I had already unpacked after a long flight with three children. I shouldn’t have to move. I should’ve been given at least a clean and livable place to stay sadly I will not be returning.

A lot better than we expected
My husband and I have just spent a month here and was more than happy
After reading some of the reviews I nearly cancelled. It does have its faults - it IS tired the apartments do need some TLC and a bit of an update, however the apartments are very large and adequately equipped, they get cleaned every day, and the staff are very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Montse on reception was especially helpful if you needed anything.
We stayed in Plaza Verde which is next to the Olympic size pool which is used by triathlon teams, so that
isn't for "messing" in but there are 5 others to pick from which they do seem to be doing some renovation works here and there on (replacing surfacing around some pools etc) the pools btw were clean with lifeguards on most.
I have seen reviews that say the main bar is closed, it isn't! (although it only opens 6 -11 ) the other bars are open until 6 though (mai tai and lido)
We didn't eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on that.
There is a shop on site for convenience but the hyperdinos and spars down the road are cheaper.
In brief its not the Ritz but then it's not Ritz prices either.
It's a great base for exploring Costa Teguise and surrounding areas.
We would definitely return.

Lovely winter break
We're half way through a week at the Sands Beach hotel on the outskirts of Costa Teguise and thoroughly chilling in the calm atmosphere and nice surroundings.
Our self-catering accommodation offers all the amenities required inc kitchen, bath/shower room (with bidet), his-and-hers hand basins, large living/tv room and a comfortable bedroom with plenty of storage. Yes, the entire hotel is showing its age and could do with some TLC but the friendly staff work hard to keep it as clean as they are able.
There is a supermarket next to reception and two on-site restaurants to choose from depending on what time of day it is. A bar area on the other side of reception seems to offer entertainment, but sadly not at this point in the season.
Our daughter and family, 5 in all, are staying in a larger “beach front” apartment yards from a man-made beach and sea area. Ideal for chilling on your own patio whilst being able to watch the kiddies in a safe environment making sand castles, paddling in the shallow water or trying to catch one of the numerous fish in there.
There are six swimming pools in this complex including a large rectangular laned pool for the serious swimmer. Although, at this time of year, the water is only for the courageous due to it's temperature.
A 10-12 minute coastal walk towards Teguise will bring you to some good imported sand beaches with crashing waves and several bars, restaurants and shops. A further 5-10 minutes takes you into Teguise with lots of choices of bars and restaurants. As we were self catering, we sampled many of these for lunch and dinner and were always happy with the food and the prices. €15 for a sirloin steak and €14 for a bottle of house red are similar to what we had in the UK a few years ago.
We liked the Teguise area, it was clean and felt safe even in the evening/night when the town came alive. We would no hesitation in going back both to Teguise and to the Sands Beach hotel.
