Beautiful room great view close to bay walk and up great experience is was in deluxe suite

Conveniently located; odd layout configuration of rooms, hallways, stairways. Many rooms lack views (have windows to inner hallways). Place seems very old, in need of a facelift. Rooftop is not very welcoming. Bed mattresses are very hard. No bath soap or hand soap provided; must ask to have them in room.
Staff was pleasant. Good security at front door/lobby. Breakfast offered had a nice range of food (including made-to-order omelets). Happy hour pricing was very inexpensive.
Note: hotel is hard pressed to give confirmation of reservation. Several of my friends double booked for same nights, for fear of not having a room when not needed. Confirmations come very late after reserving, if at they come at all.

The hotel has a great location and the roomed are quite large, bathroom is very good and balcony overlooked the water

Extremely Disappointed Experience
The location is central near the old market. Check in was ok The room was very nice. Outside view of City poor. Down at Reception every time someone opens the door from outside you got a not a pleasant small. The Reception staff are just ok. Not very informative. When I asked the Question of how much the service charge was the lady did not know neither did the 2 members of staff with her. Lady went to the office longside and they did not know. I find that Staggering !!.
Back at the Room city side. 4 floor I know it be the city . But we did not expect that. And the noise from the street lorries dumping stuff bin Wagon noisy motorbike people on general all this was after 23.00 hrs sliding door and glass should be at the least double glazed.
On the other side the bay view has a nice view,if you have an upper floor. Our Bedroom was nice and with a hot water shower or bath. Now the bed size is good pillows are soft and smelling fresh. But it's the Mattress hard with extremely little give. It's like laying on a wooden board.
The TV's nice size cable? But not much on it film wise HBO ok as for Amazon, Netflix subscription.
Welcome drink fruit juice the type they mix powder with water and throw in a few ice cubes.
But for breakfast when I'm away I usually enjoy the experience of having breakfast at a lesially pace. Not in the Philippines Special Palawan they have no idea iif you are a foreign ok if you are a Filipino. .They do not think about other parts of the world USA EUROPE AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND. No cold cooked meat, yogurt, fresh fruit ,cereal, croissants Bagel. All they had was little bits of cake and a bit of fruit sliced up. I Asked the Restaurant Supervisor where the western, European food was and he directed me to the fillipo food . So you can add eggs and pancakes to Foreign menu. One type of fruit juice sweetened Cucumber yes Cucumber. I asked for pancakes repeated Twice I said I have pancakes have you got a topping since or jam.. He said how many would I like 3 please. Sit down I will bring them to you Thanks A little while later they arrived 3 sunny side up eggs. I said I asked for a pancake I repeated twice with topping sauce. Now if I was wanting fried eggs I would telling you how I would like them cooked and be asking where is the tomato ketchup.salt and pepper wouldn't. I
When the pancakes did arrive 3 of them looked nice shape and size expecting fluffy soft pancakes WRONG they were like rubber like eating leather.
Oh if you want a cup of tea they don't save tea not in room either just coffee left without a pleasant experience instead I was thinking of what to put in a review.
I wanted to take a few photos of the lovely view from the window in the restaurant. I asked if there was an area that had no glass I asked 2 staff who I did not understand the third said yes the bar upstairs. Now why on earth don't the hotel put that in a welcome pack oh no welcome pack or how to get cable channels or tell you of it.
So to conclude would we stay at the Starlight hotel again No
I look forward to hearing from the hotel to respond to my comments.and concerns

Exceptional Service and Heartwarming Experience
I recently stayed at Sunlight Hotel Puerto Princesa City Palawan last November 29 to December 6, 2024, and I can't thank the staffs enough for their incredible service, especially when I lost some of my jewelries during our stay. I was devastated, but the team went above and beyond to help me recover them.
A special shutout to the amazing chef who found my jewelries and ensured it was returned to me safely. Your honesty and kindness mean so much to me.
I’d also like to extend my gratitude to the wonderful hotel manager and receptionist Michelle, who were so supportive and proactive throughout the process. They kept me informed every step of the way and reassured me during such a stressful situation.
This experience has shown me how much the staff here truly care about their guests. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality and dedication. I will definitely recommend Sunlight Hotel to everyone I know and look forward to staying here again!
