Great value

There are basically three types of rooms here, cabins with a shared bathroom, cabins with their own bathrooms and aircon cabins with bathroom, so you can choose you're level of comfort and price.
The owner is extremely helpful and willing to accomodate long-stay guests with better prices. There is a shared kitchen and free breakfast . Walking distance to the beach, local sites, mini-marts. Great Place!!!
I will become a regular visitor of this place.

Lovely Kampung Style Guesthouse

The place is exactly as described. It has good vibes...friendly host...Maznah and son (Faz) make us feel at home. We have been greeted with Maznah’s smiles and delicious breakfast (Nasi Dagang and Nasi Lemak) every morning.
This place has an common kitchenette area where guests can cook and make their own drinks. There’s also a water dispenser (bring your own bottle and reduce plastic waste).
The room is clean and comfortable. It’s quiet and cool at night.

Friendly family, nice place to stay

We had a really good time! The rooms were simple, nice and clean with good prices. The breakfast was good. The family who runs the guest house is very nice and welcoming. The owner took us to the fruit market/supermarket and provided us with bus tickets and tours. We would come back here for sure!

Lovely place for low and medium budgets

Ideal place to rest and enjoy the beach. The prices are very low and breakfast is included. A kitchen, a refrigerator and cold/hot water are available. The lady is lovely, too bad she cannot speak well English. Definitely would recommend the place. It's also possible to do laundry and to book tours.

Best cost-performance ratio. Careful about provided unethical firefly trips

We've stayed here for five nights in their cheapest accomodation option, a chalet with fan and a shared bathroom for 35/night, no added fees or taxes. The cost-performance ratio is one of the best we've experienced in Malaysia so far. And the owner Maznah and her son Faz and all the staff are really friendly and positive-vibes people. Therefore we can really recommend!
The chalet is quite basic, the bed is not very comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and tide. What's the nicest part is the kitchen. Breakfast and all day long tea and coffee and snacks (biscuits, fruits, boiled eggs, toasts with jam) are included in the price. Basically all you can eat. You can cook in the kitchen and Faz can take you to the supermarket in Kemaman town to do all you shopping. There are also more expensive options available. You can see the whole pricelist in their FCB profile.
Cherating beach is clean and sandy though quite shallow. We recommend you to go for a boat trip or rent a kayak for the mangrove river. You can spot snakes, monkeys and lots of birds including sea eagle or kingfisher.
At night you can see flocks of fireflies at the river. There are organised trips. But most of the guides on the trips, including the one we took as arranged by the guesthouse, attract the fireflies to the boat by light signals so the guests can even touch them. This is disturbing the fireflies and in some cases leads to their death. This was the only downside of our stay here. If you want to see the fireflies discourage this practice and open a discussion on this topic with locals.
