A real surprise

For work I stayed one night at the hotel la Falconara. I didn't expect anything big, and instead I found a good accommodation. The room very basic but clean, the bathroom with heating and well-functioning shower. The restaurant I found great. Outside there is a nice stream and a very large space for children to play. I found the room a bit cold but just operate the air conditioner (which starts after 10 minutes) but it works. Great place to stay for work, or to make an intermediate stop with the family.

Zero Customer Service!

This place lacks everything regarding any form of customer service. We arrived well after check in, 5:00 pm, when asked where we needed to enter to check in, we were told by the owner that he wasn't there, to come back at 6:30 - 7:00!!
We had just driven down from Rome so we did not want to wait another 1 1/2 - to 2 hours to check in. We were staying in this town on our way back at another hotel, and they were able to accommodate us.

Comfortable in every way

Hotel located a few km from the motorway exit, has parking, clean and comfortable room, fully functional WIFI.
Friendly and welcoming owners and staff.
They also have a restaurant but I didn't have the opportunity to try it.
Breakfast, a sore point, it would be desirable to have some fresh brioche/cake of the day and not defrosted or packaged products

Great for families

This is the third time that my wife and three children stayed here while visiting family for a couple of weeks and we couldn't be happier. The room we stayed in was large, clean, and comfortable and despite being 5 people, we had plenty of space. The balcony was huge the view of the mountains is incredible.
We ate at the restaurant a lot because the food was delicious. Everything was fresh including the oregano, which Carlo, the owner and head chef, would go to the mountain in the morning to pick. The pizza was amazing, of the best I've ever had, as was everything else (I usually just got the special, whatever it was, and it was always worth it). The service was great and the staff was friendly and accommodating. On a few nights, they had local singers perform on the outdoor dining area.
The hotel is in the outskirts of Castrovillari, about a mile from the highway (autostrada A3, I think). It's close to the mountains (Monte Pollino) and the beach (Villa Piana on the Ionian Sea). We went to the beach a few times, it took us about 20 minutes to go the 10 or so miles because the drive is for the most part a picturesque mountainside road. Absolutely gorgeous views the entire drive to the beach, but you can't really go that fast.

"Relaxing ..."

a few kilometers from the highway, ideal for dinner and stay overnight. clean rooms and comfortable outdoor tables, good pizza, great service and professionalism, tasty cuisine. Council to try the appetizer of the house and the pappardelle with porcini mushrooms. priced accordingly
