Lovely and friendly hotel

We really enjoyed our stay here, so please don't be put off by the negative reviews. So first of all, the staff are amazing. So so friendly and welcoming, an absolute credit to the hotel. We had booked the economy room but decided to upgrade - nothing free until the next morning (we arrived very late so not an issue). The economy room is small with a tiny balcony but for all accounts does the job. You need to pay extra for air conditioning with the economy too. We wanted a bit more space and the upgrade really isn't much more and includes air con and wi-fi. We got our upgrade the next morning and the new room was great - nice and spacious, extremely comfortable bed, nice sized balcony overlooking a little plaza area and tortoise enclosure (! So nice!). The TV doesn't have many channels but we weren't watching TV anyway. Bathroom a nice big size with actual bath. The water pressure in shower wasn't as good as some we have had before but it did the job. Nice big wardrobe to hang our clothes, plus an extra futon too. Nice size fridge.
Food we found to be good. Yes, funnily enough there's a lot of Greek food on offer because Crete is a Greek island! The breakfast selection was good - some dried cereals, yoghurt, cold meats, cheeses, pastries and varied selection of hot food that changed up every day - sausages, diff varieties of eggs, bacon, warm pastries, porridge and rice pudding a couple of mornings (yum). Plus coffee machine and fruit juice.
Lunch and dinner was also good - no, the hot selection isn't huge but the dishes they had were nice. Fresh salads of diff varieties, pasta, fish, stew, Greek dishes, potatoes, pizza etc. desserts are only ice cream or fresh fruit, but we don't tend to eat much dessert. There's a huge and varied selection of places to eat right next to the hotel if you wanted something different too.
All Inclusive drinks - typical local spirits, beer (really nice), wine (tried the red which was pretty nice). There's no cocktails on the All Inclusive but they do serve them and have lots of Happy Hour specials, 2 for 1 etc and they looked good. Reasonably priced. Fanta, cola etc included on All Inclusive too. There's a nice bar area next to the pool with a games area too - pool, table tennis, etc. big TV screen where they had the Euros football playing.
The pool area isn't huge but was nice, the sun hits the top balcony part first and the beds opposite get the sun later in the day. We always got a bed but I would say the best spots get taken up quick and there's not loads of beds so might depend on how busy hotel is. You could always go to a local beach where's it's 5 euros for the full day and right at the sea - we did that a couple of times and it was lovely.
Location wise - brilliant. You are a minutes walk away from the main street and 5 mins walk from the beach and beach strip with lots of places to eat, pubs, shops. Hotel far enough back though that it's quiet. Hersonissos is a great place - would recommend Bar Samba on the beach strip (overlooks the sea, great cocktails and there's a giant turtle that swims by all the time!) and also El Puerto Mexican which was delicious. Lots of nice gift shops etc too, ice cream places, and a couple of supermarkets very close by. There's a bakery just at the bottom of the street hotel is on and I got a delicious Greek Bougatsa pastry there one morning, so yummy. Hotel also felt safe - they have 24 hour security and cameras, which I liked a lot.
Overall, I really liked this hotel and would go back. If you are used to huge luxurious hotels then no this isn't for you. But if you want a friendly, comfortable hotel with nice food and aren't really fussy and wanting more for a 3 Star hotel, then this is the place.

Hotel Agrebella - Hornos Crete

For anyone interested in getting a real review. The Hotel Agraba has 2 hotels in front of each other. The hotel with the pool is an old dormant hotel.
On the air conditioner. We got there in a room like that, and to switch to a more normal room, we had to add 30 euros. In the other room, too, there was dust that caused it to itch. The breakfast was very thin, the vegetable salad wasn't fresh, and it was the only salad, the egg hardened like it was cooked with old oil, not fresh beans, the milk, I think, is in the water, the cakes look like the supermarkets, and they were also dry. Only the yellow cheeses were more or less. We were not allowed to take cold water from the hotel chiller.
Warning: Beware of hotels where you have to pay for electricity and check carefully for which room you are supposed to get before you close a deal!
"Hotel" bad Don't get near! They have to learn a lesson not to sting tourists. So did another tourist.

It was definitely the worst decision when I booked this "hotel"

It was definitely the worst decision when I booked this "hotel"
!!!!!!!!! ATTENTION!!!!!!!!
Whoever reads this review will not regret !!!!!!
Nasty rooms with terrible smell and dirty. The bathroom smelled like sewage all the time, the shower is like old times when there was no shower.
It's not like the pictures at all, it looks more like a prison.
Air conditioning for € 10/night. If you didn't pay for it, he would open your door during the day so that it would get extremely hot, (just to make you pay for the air conditioning) .
Rude, nervous staff.
Even the hotel owner has no respect and does not know how to solve problems. He really is terrible. He says, "I am the king here
The hotel was very noisy at night, even though there was a "guard" in the hallways. On the other hand, the first night when we arrived, before we went to the room, I spoke to my friend , but not in a way that everyone woke up, a serious man came up to us as if he was ready to hit us and tell us that we "shut up" ".
Look twice before you pay for these conditions this hotel offers, because it is not cheap either

Nice hotel, not extremely luxurious

The staff at the hotel are nothing short of amazing. It is a family hotel, and you notice this in everything. The staff is always trying to help you and is almost always cheerful.
The beds are (according to the staff) typically Greek and therefore rock hard. With a hernia, this wasn't ideal. In addition, the room without air conditioning is very warm, so you are almost forced to pay 10 euros per day extra for the air conditioning. This was very unfortunate and could have been better included in the price in my opinion. The room could have been more nicely dressed. The economy room now looks a bit like a laundry room.
The food was delicious. The hotel was not very luxurious, but this did not matter to us very much. Also nice was that there were a lot of Dutch people in the hotel and communication was also available in Dutch.

Awesome hotel

We went to agrabella with a group of 10 and it was great. We had 2 family superior rooms and they were very large. Enough space for all the suitcases and you could walk around and sit with each other! The rooms are cleaned every day and new towels every day.
Furthermore, the service is really good, if you have questions you can always go to the reception, but also if you have questions in advance you can email them and you will have a quick answer.
By the pool you can sit very cozy, but also inside there is a cozy space to sit together and have a drink or game.
Breakfast is simple but very tasty and varied.
It is a few minutes walk from the center so top location, you hear nothing from the entertainment area! If you walk from the hotel to the center you will encounter a very good bakery that is also very cheap, definitely recommended!
