Nice couple breakfast

Beautiful breakfast, very large selection at the buffet, drinks were included in the breakfast, food was very good and fresh, nice service and very attentive, very good value for money, we felt very comfortable and will gladly come back.

Fuyez! Old Pension and Reception to Review

The Mercure Pension Offenburg has it all on paper. Awards below the Point of Sale, easy access and membership in a recognized chain. Arriving on site, I discover an old and quite dirty Pension. The welcome is cold. The elevator is scary. The rooms are humid and the temperature is very cool. The wifi does not work or intermittently. The pool is closed between 10am and 12pm for maintenance. The small happiness, excellent breakfast and very friendly maintenance staff.

Outdated and especially many defects

We went to Offenburg with the family around the New Year period to explore the Black Forest and chose this hotel as a base. The hotel is located on the outskirts of the city of Offenburg. On foot it is a fifteen minute walk along the center. You have to cross a bridge. The first acquaintance was immediately disappointing. In a (very cold) lobby, a staff member told us we couldn't get two rooms next to each other. However, we had booked more than two months in advance and very explicitly asked for this. The result: our young children on the third floor and we on the fifth floor. In the end nothing happened, but we didn't like it. Breakfast is decent without a doubt. In terms of quantity and variation, there was nothing to complain about. However, during this period (December / January) it was extremely cold in the restaurant. Several people simply kept the coat on during breakfast. In addition, a few groups who traveled by bus also used the breakfast room, which also limited the number of places. (Eventually we still got a table) Sometimes it still needed to be cleaned up and the overworked staffer once fleetingly swept the table with a used rag. The front door of the lobby was broken so the people who wanted to enter the hotel had to go through the restaurant. The SPA was also particularly poor. My children did not use the pool because the water was far too cold. The sauna, on the other hand, was top and nice and warm. The infrared cabin didn't work. Broken again. They use a system where you can indicate whether you want your room cleaned. When you don't want to, you get a little surprise (sweet) instead. Although we did not indicate that we wanted to go into this, our room turned out not to be cleaned. One of the two elevators also broke down during our stay. I've always taken the stairs just in case. In front of the hotel there is (a spacious) parking. You have to pay for this. You get a kind of parking ticket with which the barrier opens and closes. Once we used the restaurant in the evening to drink a cup of coffee and a hot chocolate after a trip. Luckily we still had a welcome voucher to pay. Prices were not extremely high but still slightly higher than average. Unfortunately, we got instant chocolate and coffee from a thermos that had been too long. After one time we thanked kindly. Although I am not a difficult customer overall and understand that something can go wrong, I regret to conclude that this hotel gave us a mediocre experience. From other people we heard that the hotel used to be able to offer more quality but has recently deteriorated on several facets.

Can do better

Hotel well placed to make the Christmas markets of Strasbourg (30mn) and Colmar ( about 1 hour ). The hotel is aging, the breakfast was not up to standard. Paid parking but large enough.

Four stars are elsewhere, not here

We've been here before and it was fine. Now everything is kind of in a downward trend. Sauna, loungers by the mini pool, the 4 square meters fitness, ventilation in the toilet and drain sink room. Our request «please check ventilation» was answered at the reception with «can't do anything anyway, as there is no technician in the house on weekends.» We then dispensed with the complaint drain. Parking spaces in front of the hotel must certainly not cost 12 euros per day in November. The breakfast crew i is to be praised, all good so. But otherwise you just don't feel comfortable. And 4 stars are elsewhere. For us the last time in this place. Despite good breakfast.
