Clean, Central and Affordable
I wanted to give a fair and balanced review on this place as many to date have been so negative and people were very picky about silly things. I booked a 2 night stay at City Meetpoint during a a short trip to Hamburg. I was travelling alone and had a budget that I wanted to stick to. Let me start by saying that Hamburg is super expensive and anything central came with a very hefty price tag. This is a budget hotel and I found a 2 night stay here at a very reasonable price on booking.com.
The first thing I liked was the close proximity to Central Station. It’s a few minutes walk and the area, whilst a little shady, has an abundance of places to eat and drink well into the small hours. I didn’t feel threatened at any point and was out until late both nights.
The staff are very welcoming and friendly and requests and questions are met with a smile which is nice. One even said “Welcome Home” to me when I arrived back late in the evening. It was really quite lovely. They made me feel very welcome indeed. It’s only a small hotel and there’s someone there 24/7 if you encounter any problems.
The room was a small, studio style set up, though perfectly suitable for what I needed for a short stay as a single traveller. It was immaculately clean, with a superb hot shower. People have complained that the bathroom isn’t separate from the room as it is behind a partition wall. I personally don’t see why that’s a problem, it’s a single room and you’re paying for one person to stay there. It makes no difference. The toilet, sink and shower were perfect for my needs and very very clean. Towels, toiletries and bed linen are provided. All were clean and fresh.
The room had a small smart TV, which allowed me to log into my Netflix account. I love it when I can do this! The hotel WiFi works perfectly and the room was nicely heated and an additional fan heater provided though I didn’t need to use it. Two windows letting in plenty of light and fresh air.
The hotel was surprisingly quiet given its central location, though my room was to the rear of the building and faced away from the busy street.
I mostly slept well. The only constructive feedback that I can give it that my room was located at the top of the stairs directly as you enter the building. I was woken most mornings by other guests passing by my room and chattering away, and also by people talking in the lobby. The location of the room means that everyone has to walk past it when they’re leaving or coming back. This didn’t affect my stay however and a set of ear plugs solved the problem on my second night.
For what I paid to stay here, against the prices that other hotels were charging, I found it to be really good value for money and I’d recommend it to anyone needing a cheep and cheerful place to stay in central Hamburg. I would have no issues staying here again.

Absolutely the worst thing I had ever experienced and professionally I sleep far weekly in different hotels Germany.
But a dirty cot as new for sale and without head pillow blanket and bed layers is already a number!
Since this was part of the paid Booking Referral I expect this too!
Yellow spots on the ceiling is not a standard either!

Never again, not recommended
Absolutely too small, too narrow for two people. No space for suitcases, no wardrobe for clothes. Brennerstrasse is very dirty (drugs and prostitution, constant police and rescue operations), loud and absolutely disruptive to the peace and quiet at night. Can't recommend it.
