Nice stay at Østergaards Hotel

Had a really nice stay at Østergaards Hotel in Herning for 2 nights in August 2024. The room was spacious and clean and nice and the present staff did their absolute best to ensure one had a great stay, can recommend the hotel at any time,

Disappointing! Don’t stay here

Disappointing. Stayed 2 nights at Oestergaard as I couldn’t find a hotel closer to the city center. The hotel is old and on the farther end of the city center. When I walked in my room and was faced with a dirty trash can. I thought that I walked in the wrong room as it seemed like someone else was still occupying the room. A bit creepy. I informed the staff about the dirty room and asked for a cleaner room. He blamed the cleaners, but I was given a “suite”. Basically a bigger version of the regular room, but with a sofa and an arm chair. The next day when I returned to my room in the evening, the trash was emptied, but a used q-tip was on the floor. The bathroom sanitary bag wasn’t replaced. At least I was given a clean towels. The used disposal coffee cup that I left in the morning and empty sugar packet was still on the table. I can somewhat live with the above. But the beddings were just thrown on the bed - not too tidy - and one of the pillows left on the floor. Actually that pillow was on the middle of the bed when I left in the morning. I went down to Reception and the same staff (who gave me a dirty room) was there. I told him about my room. I was polite about my complaint. But he blamed it again to the cleaners. No apology. But I told him it’s their hotel. As a hotel guest, I would expect for the hotel staff to care a bit more about their work and have some pride. It seems like the staff of this hotel could care less about the quality of their work. What is presented is what is perceived. I work for a big international company and I will inform my company to remove this hotel from the list of recommended hotels in Herning. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. The WIFI is also bad. Sorry but Oestergaard Hotel you need to do much better!

Very close to 5 stars.

A cozy stay in a good room and with very delicious food in the restaurant. The first evening we received a menu, the second evening a la carte, and both were very satisfying.
Breakfast buffet was exquisite and with good selection. Overall a really good experience.

Good hotel close to the highway

We spent the night on a Friday in June in a spacious room 120 on the 1st floor closest to the busy Silkeborgvej and facing west with a little evening sun on an unsettled summer day. The bathroom was also spacious and in 1970s style, i.a. with bathtub. The breakfast buffet was average with a preponderance of white bread and only a little organic (rhubarb and elderflower juice). There were good jams and sliced cheese as well as ginger shot.
