I wouldn't stay here again but it is a pretty view and management is great as well
The positives--the pool was beautiful and the daily/nightly entertainment team did an excellent job. We did a TON of tours and excursions and only were actually at the resort for one full day (most tours were 1/2 day to full day)....so for the amount of time we were there it was pretty and it was decent. We were there w/our kids who enjoyed the pool basketball, beach volleyball, and nightly shows. They had a blast.
Was it 4 or 5 star? Hardly. It needs a LOT of renovations and food/beverage overall to be what it could be.....COULD it be amazing? Absolutely.....but the Hyatt Hotels Corp needs to invest a good bit of time and money there to bring it up to par. I WILL say that when we did have issues, the manager, Milagros Suart, was absolutely amazing and a pleasure to work with. She went above and beyond to try and compensate for the shortcomings of the resort and other staff. But one person can only do so much...…..I hope that the Hyatt Corp realizes what a jewel she is and that she deserves all the recognition for going above and beyond for the guests. It is ONLY because of her that our trip was still fantastic, even given the issues at the property.

Dreams is a NIGHTMARE!
First, the hotel neglected to book our complimentary transport with Amstar, so we had to pay out of pocket in order to get to the hotel. I was supposed to be reimbursed, never was. Secondly, our accommodations were NOTHING like we expected and described online. We booked a JR suite with preferred service and it was small, HOT and outdated. Extremely outdated. The entire resort needs upgrading or just throw the whole resort away!
We wound up downgrading to change our room so we could at least sleep in air conditioning, but that also fell through the first night. No offer of any kind of compensation from management, and yes I did ask! So we received a smaller, but cooler and cleaner room, with the ORIGINAL view we booked because the first room barely saw the sea and it was also my birthday and I am a UVC member, never received a sash on my door or any of the amenities I was promised.
The food was horrible, especially the buffet....which was falling apart the day we arrived by the way. The service (with the exception of the Preferred Staff, especially Shelly) was rude, nonchalant, rude, dismissive, did I mention rude??!!
Thank goodness we spent most of our time off the resort and it was a shorter trip than I usually plan. I could not wait to get out of that place! I would never, ever again. Zoetry was originally my first option, but I was told Dreams has a more younger and exciting crowd. Lies! I felt like I was in the projects in the ghetto at this hotel. My friends were not impressed either. I wish there was a way to get a partial refund for my pain and suffering!
