The hotel is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near downtown and other attractions. However, the daily traffic congestion can make commuting to work challenging.

Overall we are very disappointed because we went there for my daughter birthday. Our kids love to swim and no one let us know the the heater broke during the day so the water was at 63. I dont understand why they keep that area at 59 degres. Its was so cold our kids didnt enjoy the cold. So out stay was very short.

Disappointing experience at the Trois-Rivières Super 8 - Discrimination and mismanagement

During my stay at Super 8 Trois-Rivières, I unfortunately had a most disappointing experience, especially on Saturday, November 30. If the first two evenings (November 28 and 29) had been satisfying thanks to courteous and professional staff, the incident on Saturday completely tarnished my opinion of this hotel.
That night, my family and I, along with my son's hockey team, were subjected to unjustifiably discriminatory treatment. Without explanation, the police were called against us, on the basis of false accusations made by reception staff, who claimed that we laughed inappropriately and threw objects. These accusations were not only false, but they created a humiliating and stressful situation for us. In no way did we disturb the tranquility of the hotel, and this police intervention was totally unjustified.
What aggravated the incident was the unacceptable behaviour of a staff member at the front desk, who appeared at work wearing trousers with a Playboy logo. Not only did it lack professionalism, it also contributed to the perception of a lack of respect for customers.
This type of treatment is unacceptable, especially in a hotel that wants to be a pleasant destination for its guests. I expected a lot more respect and professionalism, and unfortunately this incident ruined what could have been a pleasant stay.
However, the first two nights of our stay, Thursday 28 and Friday 29 November, had been perfect. The staff was courteous and helpful, which had given us an excellent first impression of the hotel.
I am very disappointed with this experience and hope that steps will be taken to prevent such an incident in the future. I will probably not return to this establishment, even if we have tournaments frequently in this city, due to this incident and the deplorable management that resulted.
Recommendation: I do not recommend this hotel unless it takes concrete steps to improve its reception and staff training, and to ensure that situations like this do not recur.

Not to be avoided if travelling with your family

We stayed at the hotel in November 2024. It was my first experience in a hotel of this chain (and probably my last).
Honestly, it's hard to know where to start but I'm gonna go from worst to best. Worst part, the staff. Looks like we're bothering them. Every time we get a request it's a long, despairing exhalation. Hey, you're the one who initiated the pool towel request, face it. Staff yell at children because they make too much noise at the pool or because they fetch water from the juice machine outside lunch hours. If the machine is closed for water, they should write it down and if the policy is to be courteous to the staff, they should require the same from their staff.
Professionalism is also to be reviewed. I never have a hotel (which calls itself family-friendly) where the dress code allows reception staff to have Playboy pants all over it (imagine the children's questions about what it means...). If it's part of the Super 8 uniform, let's just say it says a lot about the banner. If this is an employee initiative, it says a lot about banner management practices.
In terms of cleanliness it was OK in our room but their ice machine flowed so there was plenty of water in the corridor. On Thursday and Friday, there was a sign "attention slippery floor" but it had been stored on Saturday while the puddle made the entire corridor. We saw several children slipping on the water deposited on the ceramic.
The rooms are outdated. The mattress springs on our main bed were finished, no support. Everything is basic in the room (i.e. thin towels, old chairs, etc....)
The back door supposed to allow us to avoid having to go around the building every time back to the hotel was broken so we had to go around the hotel with our equipment every time back to the hotel.
By lunch, bread and bagels were running low and orange juice was quickly running dry, tables are not cleaned when guests leave. In our hotel that promotes itself as family let's say it leaves sticky tables for the next.
At the voucher level, we note parking and geographical rental.
In short, in the same price range for a family-run hotel, there are several best choices in Trois-Rivières. If you are a family, don’t be fooled by the slide, you will be disappointed.
