High quality and charming Austrian hide away with easy access to Kaprun and Zell Am See ski slopes

We stayed at Dorfkrug Apartments on a recent ski-trip to Kaprun with friends. This beautiful property also houses the outstanding Dorfkrug Restaurant, arguably the best dining experience in Kaprun and reviewed separately under Restaurants. The accommodation was stylish, warm and comfortable with walk-in showers and plenty of storage and an excellent sunny balcony with stunning views up to the glacier. A good buffet breakfast and fresh coffee with eggs made to order were all good although a bread toaster would have been nice. The house is conveniently located and an easy walk from the centre of the village. The ski bus to the Kaprun glacier and Zell Am See ski areas is right outside the property. Dorfkrug is owned and run by Matthias and Friedrich who were entertaining and welcoming hosts and supported by their highly organised young team. Highly recommended.

Cosy, comfortable hotel

Excellent placed in the very neighbourhood of ski rental and skibus stop. We called a day before to announce late arrival and all went perfectly. Clean, big, warm room. Daily cleaning. Large room for ski equipment and lots of shoe driers for ski boots. The staff in both hotel and restaurant are kind and friendly. Breakfast offers the essentials, in top quality, for all tastes. Extra bonus with no scrambled or fied eggs in the buffet Clients are askes individually and each one gets the eggs prepaired fresh by order. Good coffe also. We warmly recommend this hotel to all. Child frienly also.

It is a very nice view from the apartments. It is a bus that stop 10 meters from the door, the bus go to the skicenter. And if you go down the stairs you came to a door that go to dorfkrug restaurant.

Nice apartment with fantastic view

We chose the apartment with two bedrooms + kitchen/living room. It was fitted with everything we needed. Appliances are in great condition. Very clean. The balcony was huge and had a fantastic view over the Kitzsteinhorn. They also have a washing machine + dryer in the basement which was useful. Their restaurant is the best.

Good food, nice staff

The Dorfkrug is quite big and people eat in shifts (reservations are for 18pm or 20pm). But the food is good and brought to you swiftly. As an apetizer do try the 'fake snails'. It's wonderful beef in a tasty sauce. We made another reservation for the same week. :)
